DONNA, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that left a 16-year-old boy in critical condition.
The shooting was followed by a vehicle pursuit that ended at the 1900 block of Walker Rd. in Donna.
Deputies observed the driver exit the vehicle covered in blood.
According to the HCSO, the driver said that his 16-year-old brother had been shot and that he had just dropped him off at the Alamo Freestanding Emergency Room.
HCSO deputies then proceeded to the Alamo Freestanding Emergency Room, where medical staff reported that the 16-year-old boy had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
The teen was stabilized and transported to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Investigators are pursuing leads to establish the exact location where the shooting occurred and identify the people responsible.
