Harlingen police investigate Lon C. Hill Park vandalism

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Lon C. Hill Park in Harlingen is under investigation after it was vandalized over the weekend.

The Harlingen Police Department are looking to locate the people who vandalized the park's restrooms and mechanical rooms.

The department estimates the damages will cost the city thousands of dollars to repair.

Photos provided by Harlingen police show water fountains and pipes removed from the walls.

"The City of Harlingen and the police department take this issue very seriously and are actively investigating the criminal mischief that occured," the Harlingen Police Department announced in a statement.
