HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Harlingen police continue to investigate the death of 19-year-old Nahomi Rodriguez eight years after her death.
On July 17, 2016, Rodriguez was last seen leaving McDonald's in a small light-colored SUV, after working an overnight shift.
According to a previous ValleyCentral report, surveillance footage at the drive-thru captured an interaction between Rodriguez and a man. She handed the man a drink and then fist-bumped him, investigators said. Police believe this was the same SUV she was last seen entering.
On April 6, 2017, her remains were found off Centerline Road just outside of Rio Hondo.
In July 2023, Cameron County District Attorney Luis V. Saenz named a person of interest in the murder of Nahomi Rodriguez.
In a statement from Saenz, the person of interest was identified as Miguel Angel Flores.
A previous ValleyCentral article states, Flores is in a state prison serving sentences for aggravated robberies out of Hidalgo and Cameron counties. His current sentences are 13 and 12 years.
The Harlingen Police Department continues to work with District Attorney Saenz, and several local, state and federal agencies to resolve the case.
Anyone with information on Nahomi's case is asked to contact Investigator Perez at (956) 216-5459 or the Harlingen Area Crime Stoppers at (956) 425-TIPS (8477).
