A 49-year-old Harlingen man pleaded guilty Tuesday to murder for the death of a 32-year-old Corpus Christi woman who went missing in October 2019.

Anthony Eliff, who reached a plea deal with prosecutors, was sentenced to 30 years for the murder of Elyn Loera, court records show.

Eliff is currently serving a 75-year sentence for murdering 41-year-old Guillermo Garcia on Feb. 6, 2020.

A jury convicted him of murder and unlawful possession of a firearm following a trial.

Before her disappearance, Loera told her mother she was traveling to Harlingen to visit her boyfriend, Eliff.

She took a bus to the Valley in September 2019 and that was the last time her mother saw her.

Investigators found her remains on Feb. 10, 2020 in a brush lot west of Business 77 in San Benito.

Her mother died before her body was recovered.

However, days before Loera’s body was found, Harlingen police charged Eliff with murder after Garcia’s body was found with a gunshot wound to his chest inside a parked car in the 3300 block of Adams Landing at around 10 p.m. on Feb. 6, 2020. Eliff was arrested the next day.

He has remained jailed since then.
