HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The City of Harlingen held three runoff elections for commissioner seats this weekend after the Nov. 5 General Election.
The runoff election for Commissioner in Districts 3, 4, and 5 was held on Saturday, Dec. 14.
Mike Mezmar and R. Frank Lozano battled it out again at the polls for the Commissioner District 3 spot.
According to election day unofficial results, Mezmar beat Lozano for the Commissioner District 3 spot with a total of 333 votes, while Lozano fell behind with 307 votes.
For the runoff Commissioner District 4 title, Frank Morales and Beto Peña ran against each other again for this seat.
Election day unofficial results show, Morales won the runoff election with 154 votes. Peña came up short with a total of 121 votes.
Rene Perez and Nikki Alvarez-Daniell went against each other for the Commissioner District 5 seat.
Election day unofficial results show, Perez received a total of 468 votes during the runoff election. Alvarez-Daniell fell short with a total of 426 votes.
