Haley's Comet inspires local author to release stargazing book

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Local author Rey Banda spoke to KVEO on his latest book release "The Sons & The Stars."

Banda's new book tells the story of a father teaching his son about stargazing and the wonders of the universe.

Banda said this story was inspired by his son who woke him up early in the morning so they could view Halley's Comet together.

"The main thing I wanted to get out is how [my son] inspired me to do all this," he said. "He inspired me to not just look at comets but planets, stars, nebulas, galaxies and everything."
