Hackerott, O'Keefe named to SLC All-Conference Teams

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Southland Conference announced its women's basketball All-Conference teams, which included two University of Texas Rio Grande Valley players.

Junior Charlotte O'Keefe and graduate student Kade Hackerott were both selected to the SLC All-Second Team. O'Keefe was also selected to the SLC All-Defensive Team.

O'Keefe leads the Southland in a conference-high six stat categories, including all four rebounding categories, total blocks and double-doubles. She is also the only Southland player averaging a double-double this season, contributing 10.7 points per game and 12.5 rebounds per game.

Charlotte is in the midst of one of the program's best individual seasons. This season, O'Keefe claimed UTRGV program records for single-season rebounds and career rebounds.

Hackerott's selection to the SLC All-Second Team comes from leading the Vaqueros with 13.0 points per game and 34 steals. She is also second on the team with 6.6 rebounds per game and 87 assists.

The Vaqueros (16-15, 11-9 SLC) get set to face Nicholls (16-13, 9-11 SLC) in the first round of the SLC Championships on Monday at 1:30 p.m. in Lake Charles, LA.
