Godinez: South Texas Facility Partnership is bringing outside investors into the RGV

EDINBURG, Texas – Brian Godinez, CEO of McAllen-based ERO Architects, has given an update on a new business venture he has started – South Texas Facility Partnership (STFP).

Godinez spoke at an Edinburg Commercial Tour event co-hosted by the Rio Grande Valley Partnership and Edinburg Economic Development Corporation. The event brought together realtors, bankers, land developers and investors. It was held at Edinburg City Hall and STFP was a co-sponsor of the event.

“ERO Architects is going to be 25 years old in January. I am CEO and one of the partners in the firm. We have been focusing on education and government for a long time. Over 300 facility projects. About ten million square feet in design space around the state of Texas, principally in the Rio Grande Valley,” Godinez said.

“About two and a half years ago we decided we wanted to move into the private sector. We wanted to take the relationships we have established with cities and economic development corporations and other institutions and (make available) our skill set in project management, architecture, and engineering to developers, land owners, public entities and investors.”

Bringing Shey Johnson into STFP has been crucial, Godinez said. “Shey has 20 years of construction, business development and planning experience,” he explained.

Godinez said STFP wants to be bundler, a company that brings together professional services like architecture and engineering, with construction and finance.

“We’ve got financial partners from out of area who are starting to make investments in the Rio Grande Valley,” Godinez said.

“We want to move fast and we believe partnerships is what it takes to move projects quickly. We do not want to be just another service provider for you. We want to be your economic partner.”
