LOS FRESNOS, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A fourth suspect has been charged in connection to a 2020 murder-for-hire plot.
Cynthia Margarita Olvera, 31, was arrested Thursday by the Brownsville Police Department's Special Investigations Unit/Criminal Investigations Unit, Cameron County District Attorney's Office, Texas Rangers, Cameron County Precinct 4, and the U.S. Marshals, in connection to the murder of 39-year-old Adela Gonzalez that happened in November of 2020 at the 2000 block of Dana Avenue.
Olvera was arrested at the 31000 block of Hwy 100 in Los Fresnos.
She is charged with capital murder while remuneration, capital murder conspiracy to commit, capital murder by burglary, and engaging in organized criminal activity.
Olvera was arraigned Friday and issued a bond of $3 million.
She is the fourth suspect arrested in connection to the death of Gonzalez.
Brownsville police arrested Jose Arnoldo Rodriguez, Charly Angel Carrillo-Torres and Jonathan Xavier Roman-Martinez in March of 2021.
The three are accused of participating in the death of Gonzalez who was found shot.
As previously reported by ValleyCentral, Rodriguez was arrested by the Brownsville Police Department's Fugitive Apprehension Unit, Deputy U.S. Marshals, and ICE/ERO. Rodriguez had several warrants, including; capital murder, burglary of a habitation with intent to commit another felony, engaging in organized criminal activity, and two counts of criminal solicitation.
Torres and Martinez were arrested in San Antonio by the Brownsville Police Department in collaboration with the San Antonio Police Department, the Texas Rangers, Texas DPS, and the U.S. Marshals. Torres and Martinez also had several warrants, including capital murder, burglary of a habitation with intent to commit other felony and engaging in organized criminal activity.
