Food, festivities and fun expected for this year's MXLAN

McALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — If you’re looking for food, fun and music this weekend, consider attending MXLAN.

It will be held at the McAllen Convention Center beginning on Friday evening.

It will run through Sunday, which is Cinco de Mayo.

MXLAN celebrates the art, music and culture of the Hispanic community.

On Friday, its free for everyone.

It kicks off with an artisan mercado at 5 p.m. And the group Los Aptos performing at 6 p.m.

There will be fireworks every night at 9:30 p.m. For a full list of scheduled events visit the MXLAN website.

On Friday, we’ll take our newscasts on the road.

We’ll join you live at 6 and 10 p.m. on CBS4 and 6:30 and 10 p.m. on NBC23.
