MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A convicted felon has been ordered to prison for being caught in possession of guns.
David Michael Saenz, 34, was arrested on Sept. 11, 2024 during a traffic stop. Authorities say his car smelled of marijuana and that he admitted to having guns in the car.
A search of his vehicle revealed two handguns and two more in his waistband. Meth and marijuana were also found in the vehicle.
He pleaded guilty to his charges on Nov. 21, 2024.
In 2021 he was convicted for aggravated robbery. As a convicted felon Saenz is not allowed to possess guns.
Additionally, Saenz told authorities the reason he needed the weapon was for protection during his drug deals.
