BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The public meetings regarding SpaceX's plan to increase the number of Starship launches and landings at the Boca Chica launch site have been postponed.
According to the FAA, the meetings regarding the Draft Tiered Environment Assessment for SpaceX's plan to increase launches will be rescheduled at a later date.
In a previous statement, the FAA stated that SpaceX's proposal included increasing the number of annual launches and landings of Starship to 25.
The FAA announced the public meetings would be held for input on the environmental assessment to the proposal.
Four in-person meetings were originally scheduled to take place on Tuesday and Thursday in South Padre Island and Port Isabel. A fifth virtual meeting was scheduled for Aug. 20.
The FAA said it will announce new dates for the meetings and an updated deadline for the comment period, which will be extended. Public comments can be submitted to www.regulations.gov under Docket No. FAA-2024-2006.
