HOUSTON (KIAH) – The Storm Prediction Center is forecasting a rare "high risk" of severe weather Monday and/or Monday night. They're expecting a "major severe weather outbreak" with extreme severe storms developing in the Central U.S.
It's an ideal tornado setup, likely producing multiple strong, long-tracked tornadoes. The worst of it will is expected to occur in an area from Wichita Falls, TX to Oklahoma City, OK to Wichita, KS to Kansas City, MO.
In addition to tornadoes, giant hail (2" or larger) and damaging straight-line winds (70+ mph) are possible.
