Everything Ankit Sanghavi said at Accelerator 2024 conference

MCALLEN, Texas – Ankit Sanghavi, executive director of the Texas Health Institute, was one of two keynote speakers at Accelerator 2024 – Advancing Value for Health Equity. 

The other keynote speaker was Hidalgo County Commissioner Ellie Torres. 

The annual health equity conference was co-hosted by the AltaCair Foundation and Western Governors University. It was held at Embassy Suites in McAllen on Oct. 17, 2024.

According to its website, the Texas Health Institute is Texas-focused but nationally engaged.

“We optimize our role as the independent public health institute in the state by strengthening public health infrastructure

to effectively meet population health needs and address public health crises of the 21st century,” the website states.

THI says it also advances the transformation of health systems “to increase access to whole-person and community centered health care for all.”

The group says it also promotes healthy communities “to create resources, systems, and environments that provide equitable opportunities to thrive.”

Sanghavi provides leadership and direction on all Texas Health Institute initiatives and develops collaborative efforts with its local, state, and national partners. He earned a Master of Public Health from Texas A&M University in 2014 and Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences India in 2011.
