Elida Reyna kicks off farewell tour at Los Fresnos Rodeo

LOS FRESNOS, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Two-time Grammy winner Elida Reyna is kicking off her farewell tour at the Los Fresnos Rodeo this weekend.

Our Valley Sports Central Reporter Blake Holland got the chance to interview the superstar at the event.

The Valley native said she is most proud of her two Latin Grammys, her 40 Tejano Music Awards and her 15 albums. But above all she is grateful to have a string support system.

"I have a beautiful fanbase, and I'm just very blessed," Reyna said. "Aside from that, I have a beautiful family—I have three kids—and I just have the best of both worlds—a wonderful career and a wonderful family."

Reyna said she is proud to represent Tejano music on some of the biggest stages.

She said that as a little girl from Mercedes, Texas who made it big, her biggest pieces of advice are to stay creative and remember to work and play hard.

After her performance in Los Fresnos Reyna will go on her farewell tour and says she plans to close it out back in the Valley.
