Edinburg to host vigil for victims of fatal helicopter crash

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The City of Edinburg is hosting a candlelight vigil to honor the three people who died in a National Guard helicopter crash in La Grulla.

The vigil will pay tribute to Edinburg native and U.S. Border Patrol agent Christopher Luna and the two National Guard soldiers from New York, Chief Warrant Officer 2 Casey Frankoski and Chief Warrant Officer 2 John Grassia.

The vigil is open to the community and candles will be provided while supplies last.

Residents are welcome to bring their candles and use their phones during the vigil.

The memorial will be held at 7 p.m., Monday, March 11 at the Edinburg Amphitheater located at 201 W. McIntyre St.
