Edinburg Police Department to host holiday toy giveaway

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Edinburg Police Department is inviting the community to its Blue Santa Toy Giveaway ahead of the holidays.

3,500 toys will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday at 201 W. McIntyre St.

"We'll be having a lot of different entertainment and free vendors," said Edinburg PD officer Rolando Anaya. "Along with some rides for the children such as dinosaur rides and train rides for our kids as well."

There will also be live performances, various food vendors, carolers and a screening of "The Grinch."

Officer Anaya encourages the public to attend the family-friendly event.
