PALMHURST, Texas (ValleyCentral) — On this week's Food 4 Thought the Food Patrol found roaches right under where the customers order their food.

Antigua Bakery & Cafe located at 1022 E. Harrison Ave. in Harlingen has earned a Top Performer sticker from getting a perfect score on its Feb 12. inspection report.

A mother's dream and her passion for food have made her a Top Performer. The decor has a warm and wholesome charm and pastries are chef's kiss.

"It's a lot of work because we make everything from scratch," said Owner, Leticia Garcia.

The attention to flavor and the empty plates from repeat customers is the everyday seal of approval.

After 11 years on one of Harlingen's busiest roads, she is getting a sticker and potentially new customers.

The Food Patrol headed to Fortune Cookie Chinese Restaurant at 4313 North Conway Avenue in Palmhurst after receiving 18 violations on its Feb 12, Hidalgo County Health Inspection Report.

It had expired permits, employees not wearing hair nets, meat on the floor, flies inside the mushrooms, and roaches.

One is dead under a fluorescent light right over the counter where people order food.

The co-owner spoke with the Food Patrol about the roach and the inspection report. The Food Patrol was allowed into the kitchen however, the co-owner refused to let our cameraman enter.

He said they had pest control exterminate each month and provided receipts, but the real receipt was the roach.
