BROWNSVILLE, Texas – A groundbreaking ceremony was held May 22, 2025, for the eagerly anticipated Greater Brownsville Tech District.
The huge new industrial park is located on FM 511 between Old Alice Road and Paredes Line Road in Brownsville, Texas.
When fully built out the park will cover 770 acres. But the build-out will be completed in phases. The first phase, covering 86 acres, will see 13 lots built, which, combined, will provide 1.3 million square feet of industrial space.
Brownsville Mayor John Cowen, Jr., says the project will create a higher tax base for the City of Brownsville, which in turn will help city leaders develop a better quality of life for its residents. He said the district is also about jobs – jobs for the children and grandchildren of today’s city residents.
