MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A convicted felon has been ordered to prison for being in possession of a firearm.
A judge ordered Rosvel Gonzalez to serve three years in federal prison to be immediately followed by three years of supervised release.
Gonzalez pleaded guilty Nov. 21, 2024.
On Sept. 5, 20204 Gonzalez played into a sting operation where an undercover agent sold him a gun. Shortly after the "sale" authorities arrested Gonzalez for being a convicted felon with a firearm.
When they searched his home they found eight more guns and ammunition.
Gonzalez was previously convicted for possession of marijuana.
Gonzalez has been and will remain in custody pending his transfer to a Bureau of Prisons facility to be determined in the near future.
