City of Mission hosts care package drive for nursing home residents

MISSION, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The City of Mission is bringing cheer to nursing home residents this holiday season.

The city is asking families to join in spreading holiday joy by donating items to their annual Adopt-a-Grandparent care package drive.

Community members are welcome to donate items such as socks, board games, blankets, stuffed animals and coloring books.

Donation boxes are now open at the following locations:

• Mission Police Department located on 1200 E 8th St.
• Mission Fire Department located on 415 W Tom Landry St.
• Mission City Hall located on 1201 E 8th St.

The deadline to donate is Monday, December 9.

City leaders will be delivering the care packages to nursing home residents on Wednesday, December 11.
