City of Harlingen rings in the holidays

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The City of Harlingen hosted its 38th Lighting of the Arroyo on Thursday.

The annual tradition welcomes families to ring in the holidays with light displays, live performances and activities.

Some guest features at the event were CBS 4 Chief Meterologist Bryan Hale, Harlingen city leaders and Santa.

The light display is open to the public at McKelvey Park located on 1401 77 Sunshine Strip.

Harlingen will continue the holiday festivities with its 3rd Annual Community Christmas Tree Lighting.

The tree lighting will begin at 6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 13 at the Harlingen Convention Center, located on 701 Harlingen Heights Dr.

The tree lighting event is open to the public.
