BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The City of Brownsville announced it will be building a state-of-the-art Public Safety Complex on Thursday.
The complex will house the Brownsville Police Department, Fire and Ambulance Administration, Emergency Operations Center and Information Technology and Cybersecurity offices.
"This project represents our unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and
preparedness of our community," said John Cowen, Jr., Brownsville City Mayor. "The new
Public Safety Complex will modernize our capabilities and position Brownsville as a
regional leader in public safety and emergency response."
It will be designed to address the increasing needs of the Brownsville community by expanding public safety, emergency management and disaster preparedness.
The facility is expected to be around for at least 50 years.
