OLMITO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A woman was arrested Wednesday for assaulting her sibling and deputies, according to a release.
Deputies responded to a residence regarding an assault report. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with an 18-year-old victim who showed visible signs of assault.
The victim reported her sister, identified as 22-year-old Nicole Alfaro, assaulted her by pulling her hair and scratching her face when Alfaro began arguing with her boyfriend, according to a news release from Cameron County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff's deputies conducted a follow-up at a residence on Lakeside Boulevard where they established contact with Alfaro. She became combative with deputies when they attempted to detain her.
Alfaro removed the hand restraints placed on her and kicked the window and door of the patrol unit, attempting to break the window.
Alfaro was being secured in hand restraints when she continued to be combative and kicked deputies.
Oleoresin Capsicum spray was deployed in order to gain compliance over Alfaro and prevent damage to the patrol unit.
Alfaro was arrested and transported to Carrizales Rucker Detention Center and is pending arraignment.
Alfaro was charged with assault family violence TPC 22.01, resisting arrest TPC 38.03, and three counts of assault on a public servant.
