On Dec. 20, 2018, Child Protective Services contacted CCSO to report sexual abuse of a child. Investigators determined with the information collected, witness statements and forensic interviews that Tamez had sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl three separate times.

Investigators say Tamez was a friend from a church who had asked the teen's mother to fulfill his fantasy of being with the 13-year-old.
