CCSO: Man stabs co-worker after accusing him of stealing knifes

SAN BENITO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A man was arrested for stabbing a co-worker in the hand, deputies say.

Jose Eleazar Rosenbaum, 25, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to a news release from the Cameron County Sheriff's Office.

On Wednesday, authorities responded to a residence in San Benito regarding a stabbing. At the scene, deputies spoke with the victim who reported he had been stabbed in the hand by Rosenbaum.

Witness statements were obtained as well as surveillance footage that showed Rosenbaum along with others, arriving at the residence accusing them of stealing his knives, the release added.

Deputies say the footage showed, during the argument, Rosenbaum pulled out a gray switchblade from his pocket and attempted to stab him in the stomach. However, the victim reacted by blocking it and getting stabbed in the hand.

Rosenbaum was arrested and booked into the Carrizalez-Rucker Detention Center.
