CCSO: 4 men hospitalized following brawl in Cameron County

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Four men were taken to a hospital following a brawl in Cameron County, deputies say.

On Thursday, Cameron County deputies responded to the 2200 block of Avenida Nannette regarding an assault in progress involving multiple people.

According to a news release from the Cameron County Sheriff's Office, all the people involved in the brawl had injuries, varying from ones caused by blunt force objects to stab wounds.

Brownsville EMS was called to the scene and took four men to local hospitals for medical evaluation and treatment.

Responding deputies processed the scene and collected evidence including surveillance footage from neighbors.

Investigators followed up with the four men at the hospitals, where they were receiving treatment for their injuries.

"Investigators obtained statements where the participants confessed to their participation in the brawl where they sustained their injuries but are refusing to file criminal charges," the release stated.

This is an ongoing investigation.
