CBP: Two men in custody for sex crimes against children

DONNA, Texas (ValleyCentral) — U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers have arrested two men at the Donna International Crossing on separate felony outstanding warrants for sex-related offenses involving minors, according to a CBP news release.

On Saturday, Aug. 31, U.S. citizen Robert Martinez, 30, was held for secondary inspection.

During the inspection, Martinez was verified as having an arrest warrant for aggravated sexual assault of a child out of the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office.

The second arrest occurred on Sunday, Sept 1. the Donna International Crossing.

Mexican citizen Jorge Luis Estrada 47, was held for secondary inspection.

During the examination, CBP officers verified Estrada's identity and discovered he was wanted for a sex offense against a child out of the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office.

Both men were turned over to the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office to process the warrants.

They remain vigilant and collaborate with other law enforcement agencies to make arrests of this magnitude," said Port Director Walter Weaver. "Arrests like these illustrate the vital role CBP officers play in protecting our communities."
