Candlelight ceremony to be held for Harlingen victim of deadly crash

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Harlingen Cardinal Baseball Team is honoring the life of one of its own who was killed in a hit and run crash in San Benito last weekend.

Kayden Schwartz, 15, was killed in a crash Sunday while on his bike.

"It is with heavy hearts that we invite you to join us in celebrating the life of our beloved teammate, friend, brother, and son, Kayden Schwartz," the Cardinal baseball team shared.

The celebration of life for Schwartz will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Harlingen Cardinal Ballpark, located at the Early Childhood Academy, 2809 North 7th Street, Harlingen.

Candles will be lit in his memory and the team encourages al who knew him and would like to support his family to come out.

"Your presence and support mean the world to us during this difficult time," the release stated. "Let's come together and show the strength of our Cardinal family."
