Cameron County reopens beaches closed to Tropical Storm Alberto

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Cameron County Judge Eddie Treviño Jr. has ordered the reopening of the following county beach access areas effective Monday, June 24 at 9 a.m.

• Beach Access No. 3
• Beach Access No. 4
• Beach Access No. 5/ E.K. Atwood Park
• Beach Access No. 6
• Boca Chica Beach

The county said these beach access areas were temporarily closed from June 18 through 24 for the protection and safety of the general public due to Tropical Storm Alberto and the undrivable land conditions.

The county urges all individuals to be cautious when visiting beaches and heed the
advice of the lifeguards and the Flag Advisory System Signage at all times.
