'Building was fully engulfed', Harlingen FD investigates late night fire

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Harlingen Fire Department is investigating a fire that broke out early Sunday morning.

At 1:14 a.m. Harlingen fire crews responded to Mason and Co. located at 522 E. Harrison Avenue.

Harlingen Fire Chief Rafael Balderas told ValleyCentral, that when they arrived at the scene the building was fully engulfed in flames and were not able to go inside.

Balderas added some firefighters sustained minor injuries. The surrounding buildings were not damaged by the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
