Building Blocks Academy expands early childhood education opportunities

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — As PSJA ISD prepares to begin a new school year Aug. 26, the district is excited to announce the upcoming opening of its new PSJA Alamo Building Blocks Academy.

Construction is set to be completed in the coming weeks and an official ribbon-cutting ceremony will be scheduled for September. 

"Our campus is based just for early childhood. We focus on the early childhood experiences of our students," said Denise Garcia, PSJA Alamo Building Blocks Academy principal. "We offer play-based learning and it's a little different than our regular campuses. We offer Pre-K3, Pre-K4, and Kinder. That experience is a little bit different because parents feel more comfortable about taking their children to this campus. There are hands-on activities and outdoor learning environments. So those things get people excited about joining our campus."
