Brownsville to host 'Friday with the City'

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Brownsville Chamber of Commerce and the City of Brownsville are hosting an event to allow locals to sit down and talk to leaders in local government.

The event is scheduled for 8 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, at the City of Brownsville Communications & Marketing Complex.

"Recently, the City has been the venue for significant meetings with binational leaders from the U.S. and Mexico, including mayors from border cities, which underscores its role as a central point for collaboration and policymaking across national lines," the city stated.

The event is titled "Friday with the City," an initiative of the Brownsville Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the City of Brownsville aimed at providing an update to the community about the growth, progress, and future of the city.

Recently, the city of Brownsville was recognized as one of the top three tech hubs in the country by GLOBEST.com.
