Brownsville mayor to give his first State of the City address

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Brownsville Mayor John Cowen Jr. will give a speech at the State of the City event Wednesday evening to discuss accomplishments made in the past year.

Cowen will be joined by the Brownsville Chamber of Commerce to 800 people including residents, visiting mayors of other Valley cities and elected state official from Texas and Tamaulipas.

UTRGV announces new School of Art and Design location

The annual event marks Cowen's first State of the City as Mayor of Brownsville.

Cowen is scheduled to discuss Brownsville's economic growth and his vision for the city's future.

The Brownsville State of the City event will begin at 5 p.m. at the Texas Southmost College Performing Arts Center located on 90 Taylor Avenue.
