Body found in Harlingen canal

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) —Harlingen police found a body in a canal Thursday morning.

According to Sgt. Larry Moore with the Harlingen Police Department, the body was identified as a man. He was found in the canal off of the 1700 block of Bobcat Lane, behind veterans hospital.

Authorities say a Justice of the Peace is on the way and that the man's identity has been obtained. However, authorities will not be releasing his name at this time.
