BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Students across Brownsville kicked off the new school year today.
The Brownsville Independent School District welcomed over 36,000 students back to class this year, as well as a number of new teachers and employees who are starting new to the district.
Last week, the district prepared for the school year and set goals for campuses to aim for.
District Superintendent Jesus Chavez said a big focus this year is to set students up for success and to get them on the right track to pursue college after their academic career at BISD.
