BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Brownsville Independent School District is considering consolidating three of its elementary schools with other campuses to save money.

The BISD Plan for Consolidation of Schools reflects that an estimated $3 million will be saved if the consolidation comes to fruition.

If the plan is approved, BISD is planning to relocate students who attend Cromack Elementary School to Josephine Castaneda Elementary School, students from Garza Elementary School will be relocated to Southmost Elementary and students from Rosa E. Del Castillo will be relocated to Morningside Elementary.

On April 9, BISD will make a final decision on the consolidations.
