Bears, Boba and Blind Boxes! Oh My!

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Bears, Boba and Blind Boxes! This local boba shop is your one-stop shop for your boba drinks and blind box needs.

Beary Boba, located at 2506 W. Freddy Gonzalez Dr., Ste. A in Edinburg, brings a warm, cozy aesthetic to those who love collecting blind boxes.

With the rise in popularity of blind boxes, Beary Boba is no stranger to bringing variety for fans of Labubus, Smiskis, Sonny Angels Nommis, and many more.

Liz Jones, manager of Beary Boba, told ValleyCentral that this boba shop has something for everyone.

"It's an honor to be able to see everybody in the community, young and older kids, to be able to come here and enjoy their time," said Jones. "We live in a very busy, fast world and whenever I see people come here and enjoy just a couple of minutes, it feels great!"

Beary Boba, of course, is famous for its boba! With its top flavors being Dirty Taro, Strawberry Green Tea, Strawberry Matcha, Mazapan Frozen Blend, Black Tiger Boba Latte and Rose Italian Soda, there is a flavor for everyone.

Not only do they specialize in bubble teas, but they have also been working for a small farm in Japan to bring the highest quality of matcha for customers to enjoy.

"We have a ceremonial matcha, which is sourced from Japan ... It has a beautiful, bold, earthy umami flavor, which has been very popular lately," said Jones.

Jones added that the store has recently introduced a new concept for its customers who simply want a cozy place to study or make friends, and enjoy coffee.

Cardboard signs located in front of the register can be placed on customers' tables for those who are interested in having a quiet time, or for those who would like to chat and make new friends.

Beary Boba is known for bringing the community together and working with other small businesses by hosting its Trinketland events.

During the Trinketland events, customers can participate in arts and crafts activities, open a blind box and trade in person with other blind box collectors.

Jones told ValleyCentral, hosting these events really brings the community together in more ways than one.

"It is very fun, we are very grateful and so it feels like we are connecting through each other through something that we all love, to be able to bond over cuteness is such a powerful thing," said Jones.
