Assault leaves Brownsville man with critical head injuries

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Cameron County Sheriff's Office is investigating an aggravated assault case that left one person with life-threatening head injuries.

Deputies responded to the call at the 6400 block of Camper Dr. in Brownsville around 10:45 p.m. on Thursday.

At the scene, deputies found a 35-year-old man with head injuries and performed life-saving procedures until EMS arrived.

Investigators recovered evidence at the scene including surveillance footage from security cameras nearby.

Authorities have not detemined a person of interest.

The man remains in the hospital in critical condition.
