Annual Chanukah Festival and Menorah lighting set for Dec. 29

MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The annual Rio Grande Valley Chanukah Concert and Festival is set to take place on Sunday, Dec. 29.

The festival hosted by Chabad RGV celebrates Chanukah, or Hanukkah, an eight-day Jewish holiday celebrating the rededication of the Temple in Jerusalem in the Second Century B.C.

The McAllen Menorah Lighting Ceremony will take place at Archer Park from 3 to 6 p.m. Enjoy hot latkes, a kosher hot dog stand, carnival rides, games for the kids, and more.

The event is open to all and free for the entire family.
