Alzheimer's Association RGV to host annual event at La Plaza Mall

MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Alzheimer Association Rio Grande is hosting its second annual Painted Memories event.

The event will take place from noon to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday at the La Plaza Mall. Participants can sign in for the event during the event and pay a donation fee of $10.

"All the money we raise is to support the Upper Valley Walk for Alzheimer's," said PV Villa Senor-Sandell, development manager for the Alzheimer Association Rio Grande Valley.

Senor-Sandell added, that participants have the chance to paint the promise garden flower with the color they most identify with.

"It's just fun to see how they put their touch on the flower itself and of course, you keep the canvas," Senor-Sandell said.
