2025 Small Business Summit: Highlights from the Strategies for Growth panel

PHARR, Texas – The Governor’s Office of Small Business Assistance teamed up with Pharr Economic Development Corporation to host the 2025 Governor’s Small Business Summit.

It was held at the Jose “Pepe” Salinas Memorial Recreation Center in Pharr.

One of the panel discussions was titled: “Strategies for Growth: “Leveraging State & Local Programs.” The moderator was Angela R. Burton, district director, U.S. Small Business Administration, Lower Rio Grande Valley District Office.

The panelists were: David Ortiz, South Texas Regional Director for the Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center, Maria Juarez-Serna, director of the Small Business Development Center at UT-Rio Grande Valley, and Marivel Mata, director of the APEX Accelerator at UT-Rio Grande Valley.
