18 wheeler caught fire on Pharr expressway, delays expected

PHARR, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Road closures are underway in Pharr after an 18 wheeler caught fire, according to the City of Pharr.

Firefighters are at the scene of eastbound 1610 W. IH-2 to extinguish the fire.

According to officials, the eastbound expressway and frontages lanes are currently closed. The city encourages drivers to detour on Jackson Road.

No injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire has not been detemined.
