ROMA, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A man was arrested following a vehicle pursuit where 13 immigrants were found crammed inside a vehicle, deputies say.
On Sept. 10, Starr County deputies conducted a traffic stop on a white Ford Taurus, near Eagle and Hawk Street.
According to a news release from the Starr County Sheriff's Office, the driver refused to stop and a vehicle pursuit began. The driver later came to a complete stop by 4th and Lopez Street.
Deputies say the driver ran into the brush. Authorities arrested the driver by the river bank, and Border Patrol agents apprehended the 13 immigrants from inside the white car, the release added.
U.S. Border Patrol took custody of the driver and the immigrants, who are now pending prosecution.
