PHARR, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Bundles of methamphetamine valued at approximately $13 million were seized on Tuesday by federal officers stationed at the Pharr International Bridge.
The meth was located during a routine inspection by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers.
According to CBP, the meth was reportedly hidden inside the roof of a tractor-trailer hauling a shipment of broccoli from Mexico into the United States.

Federal officers located approximately 488 packages of meth with a total weight of 1,480 pounds.
The meth had an approximate street value of $13,233,900, according to CBP.
"This massive load of narcotics will not reach American streets thanks to the tireless inspection work undertaken by our CBP officers on the front lines," said Port Director Carlos Rodriguez.
A criminal investigation is underway.
