Wood: Please join me in Harlingen

1 week ago 31

Hi, I’m Duncan Wood, president and CEO of the Pacific Council on International Policy.

As we all know, elections have consequences. This year is a huge year for the United States. It’s also a very, very big year for Mexico.

Mexico has elected the first female president in all of its history, and as we approach the inauguration on October 1, I’d like to invite you to join us in Harlingen, Texas, to talk about the consequences of that election, to talk about what we are facing in terms of the future of Mexican democracy, and, perhaps most importantly for this region, how the new president will approach the relationship with the United States and the future of the Mexican economy.

So I’d love for you to be with us, join in the dialog, and I’ll see you in Harlingen.

Editor’s Note: The above commentary was spoken by Duncan Wood in a commercial to promote an upcoming speech he is giving in Harlingen, Texas. The event is being sponsored by the Rio Grande Valley Partnership and Texas Regional Bank. Details of the event are listed below. Wood is president and CEO of the Pacific Council on International Policy.
