Woman dies following cosmetic procedure in Reynosa

REYNOSA, Tamaulipas (ValleyCentral) —  An investigation is underway after a woman believed to be American died on Friday following a cosmetic procedure in Reynosa, the Tamaulipas Attorney General's office reported.

The woman was transported without vital signs to the hospital and was later pronounced dead, according to a news release from Hospital Santander.

The Hospital Santander's release says the following:

"Hospital Santander received a patient in the emergency room, transferred in a private UME ambulance from an outpatient clinic specializing in cosmetic procedures."

It adds:
"Our emergency medical and nursing team immediately activated the shock room protocol, applying advanced maneuvers. Despite the efforts made, the patient did not respond to the interventions, and it was not possible to restore vital signs."
