Woman accused of prostitution at McAllen massage parlor faces 5 more charges

McALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A Pharr woman accused of prostitution at a McAllen massage parlor now faces an additional five charges, the McAllen Police Department stated in an update.

Ana Rosa Cabrera Granados, 39, was originally charged with one count of prostitution, a Class B misdemeanor. According to a news release from the McAllen Police Department, five more counts were added.

She was arraigned on Friday, Oct. 31, and issued a total bond of $30,000.

On Friday, McAllen police announced a second woman, identified as 44-year-old Jassel Mercedes Torres Romero of McAllen, was arrested along with Granados during an investigation at a massage parlor.

McAllen police, along with state and federal agencies, began investigating a massage parlor located at 4300 N. 10th Street. Police say the investigation led to the arrest of two women on Thursday.

Romero was arraigned on Friday and formally charged with one count of prostitution, a Class B misdemeanor. She was issued a $3,000.

McAllen police say the investigation is ongoing and additional charges may follow.
