WESLACO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A dispute between Weslaco neighbors ended in gunfire Wednesday evening, police said.
One man has been transported to a local hospital after allegedly being shot in the ankle by his neighbor. Police say two neighbors got into a verbal dispute at the 2700 block of Mile 7 North Road. One became upset and fired rounds into the ground, striking the other in the ankle.
Police are calling the man's injuries non-life-threatening.
Investigators are on the scene gathering witness statements and evidence. The suspect in the shooting remains at large.
An investigation of the shooting is ongoing.
