Weslaco FD responds to vehicle fire on expressway

WESLACO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A vehicle fire caused traffic delays and lane closures on the westbound expressway lanes, according to Weslaco police.

Weslaco police and fire departments responded to the 2220 block of Expressway 83 before Exit 158 to Texas Boulevard, according to a post.

Lanes were temporarily shut down Tuesday afternoon. In an update, Weslaco police announced the area has been cleared and all travel lanes have reopened.

Authorities asked drivers to find alternative routes, and reminded them to exercise caution while operating a vehicle.
